Surrey planting scheme - Bold drifts with year round interest
Project overview
We created a impactful, flower filled scheme for a large Surrey garden. We worked on a plan that had interest from January through to December. As the space was so large a key focus was the rhythm and texture of the space, planting in strong blocks with height and structural accents.
Design process and result
We started with surveying and assessing the site. The area for planting is exposed to high winds and full sun so needed careful consideration and planning to ensure plant species were selected that thrived. Our clients had clear ideas on palette to incorporate and we needed to create an impactful scheme that wasn't dwarfed but the space. We created a detailed plan for year round interred including a bulb programme, implemented the planting along with deep soil conditioning. The final design incorporates bold drifts of perennials and grasses supported by shrubs and trees to increase biodiversity and interest.
